Deadline for submission: July 15th, 2018

About the project

Collaborative inspiration

For artists looking for new inspiration as part of their art. Artists who would like to extend their creativity and experience new concepts, methods and challenges, as well as incorporate more playfulness and intuitive work into their art and life.

Community driven

Offers a platform for interaction between artists, provides discourse and artistic challenges as a means of achieving synergy through the various and abundant voices of the individual artists. Examine different ways of linking and connecting such bridges between people, cultures and within ourselves

Individual contribution

Takes place in a “digital workshop” for a duration of about 4-5 months. Each month there will be a new mutual format to create on individually. Every month the project will provide inspirational materials, forums and discussions to provoke and stimulate the artists as part of the creative process.

For artists that

  • Use digital media as a tool for their own art
  • Want new sources of inspiration
  • Like interacting with other artists worldwide
  • Want to share their journey with others
  • Love new challenges and extending their artistic capabilities
  • Wish to present their art as part of an online exhibition on the Emergent Artist Space website

Themes

  • The collaborative and individual experiences each artist experiences through life
  • The role of creativity as an adventure
  • The role of playfulness in the artistic process
  • The individual influence as part of a group
  • The group influence on the individual
  • Maintaining artistic identity and authorship in a collective platform

How is it structured?

The process is very flexible as each artist works at his/her own different tempo and style.

There is about a monthly cycle between each deadline to allow all the artists time to sync up.

You are encouraged to work on the project as suitable for you based on your preferences and individual time-frame within that monthly deadline.

Finally, you can enjoy the various content the workshops will provide according to your interest and needs for the duration of the project.

Fees and Requirements

Applying to the project is free for all. Artists selected must agree to pay a participation fee of $15. The participation fee provides partial funding for the project and helps to offset expenses. There is an option for participation grant fee waivers to artists on a case-by-case basis. Artists interested in applying for a participation grant fee should clearly state this in the application open call where applicable. The selection will be based on the merits of artistic excellence, no artist shall be rejected due to lack of funds without prior consideration.

The artists must agree to create work within project deadlines.

The workshop is for the artists' benefit and each artist is free to take from the workshop as much as the artist wishes to.
